I hope you are able to view this Quick Video of Owen walking with his new Prosthetic. This is leg number two for Owen and he has only had it for two weeks. We are so amazed and so proud with every step he takes.

He is the final rough draft of Owen's second prosthetic. The finished leg will be mailed to us next week. We can't wait!

Another trip to Ronald McDonald House in Lexington, KY for Owen to try on his second prosthetic and make adjustments...we are soo excited to see Phase 2 of Owen's Prosthetic.

Day 2 of Pre-School: He still cries but participated a lot more and finally ate his lunch so that is a plus! He is a trooper and we will give it another try next week.

Here is a picture of Owen being casted for his second prosthetic. The first one lasted a full year with a couple of height adjustments along the way so we hope this one will last another year as well. This next prosthetic will be a little different that his last one...his weight will be on his heel instead of his whole foot like the last one. Owen's foot will be pointed downward and have a straighter leg look...we might even put a design on this leg. We can pick material if we want to personalize it for Owen. We are very excited about his new leg and we hope to have it in a couple of weeks. We will post pictures when it is completed.

Another trip to the Ronald McDonald House but this time we were in Lexington, KY. We had a doctor appointment at the Shriner's Hospital on July 30th.

Here is a quick video of Owen walking up 3 steps at a playground. He has improved sooo much in the past 2 weeks!!!

Here is a quick video of Owen walking with his newly adjusted prosthetic. He wobbles a little because they added 3 cm to his prosthetic...which makes a big difference when he walks. With practice he will be back to walking all over the place.

After having his first prosthetic for 7 months we finally had to make another trip to Dallas for adjustments. They lengthened the prosthetic and opened his toes to make it cooler for the summer time! Owen is so excited to be able to see his toes! We had an appointment with Dr. Johnston as well, x-rays were taken. At the moment, Owen's bones in his hip and femur are so small and not completely formed the doctor was not able to give us a treatment plan...so we are waiting anther year and will revaluate his treatment at that time. For now, he is a happy content little boy who loves to walk so we are happy just they way he is!!!

We made another trip to Dallas for a follow up doctors appointment and we stayed at the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas...such a wonderful place to stay. Here is a picture from our trip.

It has been 6 months since Owen was fitted for his first prosthetic and he is taking 8 to 10 steps at a time now. Here is a short video during therapy. He has definitely come a long way and still has many more steps to take. Thanks for sharing in this journey with us. We are so very blessed.

Here is the first video that I was able to capture showing Owen taking steps all by himself. He is now able to take 5 steps all by himself. He is getting so BIG!
